The Gospel is the good news about what God did for you and me so that we can be forgiven of our sins and have a restored relationship with him. 

 

The Truth is:

 

1) We are all sinners in need of a savior. 

 

You are spiritually dead because of your sin. Have you lied before? Lusted? Had sex outside of marriage? Hated someone? Used God's name in vain? Your sin seperates you from God because He is holy and perfect. God is just and He must judge sin. He judges not based on human stadards or religious standards. Rather, He judges on His standard.  

 

2) Jesus Christ is the Savior.

 

He was the Son of God, God in the flesh. He lived a perfect sin less life. He performed signs and wonders, healing the sick and setting those in bondage to Satan free. He died a horrible death, but the worst part of the crucifixion on the cross was that He took my sin, your sin, and the entire world's sin upon Himself.

 

He took the punishment. He paid the consequences for our sins. He alone is the the answer to your shame, guilt, and the consequences for your sin. He conquered sin on the cross and 3 days later He rose from the dead conquering death. 

 

3) God requires that all men and women repent of their sins.  

 

Your sin has led you to pride, selfishness, and many times, your sinful choices have hurt those you love. Sin even causes us to  hurt ourselves. You must believe in the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross, turn from sin, and ask Jesus Christ to be in control.

 

4) Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE.

 

No one comes to God through their own efforts or religion. You can try to atone for your sins, but what's done is done. You can't erase your sins. You can't bring life out of your choices that have brought death. Only Jesus Christ can do that. Its because He loves you and wants to redeem you that He will do it if you let HIm.

 

5) When you surrender your life to Christ.

 

You are spiritually made new and Your sins are forgiven. The Bible calls this being "born again." This is the only way that a person will not be guilty of their sins when they appear before God after this life. When you ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and you turn away from sin and to God, your sins are forgiven because of Christ paying the full fine on the corss.

 

This is the only way to spend eternity in heaven, instead of separated from God in hell. Coming to Christ is the only way that you become who God made you to be were made to be. God creates everyone with value and purpose. Sin, Satan, and selfishness wreck these things. Jesus Christ restores them.
